Cacao Turmeric Oats:
1/2 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup almond milk
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp maple syrup or honey
Combine all the ingredients and 1/2 cup of the almond milk in a bowl and microwave on medium power for two minutes. Remove from the microwave and stir, add in remaining 1/4 cup of almond milk and microwave for another minute still on medium power. Once the oats are cooked top with a heaping tablespoon of blackberry chia jam, sprinkle with unsweetened shredded coconut and cacao nibs!
– if you want to cut cooking time in half soak the oats over night then add more liquid in the morning and microwave. This also gives the oats a fluffier texture.
– other additional toppings may include: pumpkin seeds, hemp hearts, raspberries or goji berries.
