Blueberry Lavender Purple Kale Smoothie

Smoothies don’t always have to be green in order to deliver you with a powerhouse of nutrients! Purple kale is a great way to change it up when your green smoothies are getting a little boring. This smoothie is a great one to start your day off with especially if you know it will be a stressful one. The addition of ashwagandha and lavender will help keep your cortisol levels low and your nervous system relaxed!

Blueberry Lavender Purple Kale Smoothie
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup steamed and frozen cauliflower
1/2 fresh zucchini
1 heaping handful purple kale
1 tbsp natural almond butter + more for topping
1 tsp ashwagandha powder
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp dried food safe lavender
1/2 cup almond milk
water

In a small bowl steep the dried lavender and almond milk overnight or for at least 3 hours. Strain out lavender when ready to use.
Toss all the ingredients into your belnder, add almond milk and enough water to reach your desired consistency and blend. Pour into your favorite smoothie jar, top with granola of choice (I prefer homemade) and a drizzle of more almond butter.
